About Me

I am a polar guide, lecturer, writer and photographer based in Zurich, Switzerland.

Back in 2004 I decided to fulfil my childhood dream by travelling to Iceland and Greenland. During this trip of four weeks I caught the notorious «polar fever» and just haven't been able to shake it since.

In the past few years, I have been taking part in more than 50 land-based journeys and expedition cruises in Antarctica and the Arctic.

My work as a photographer and writer has been published in newspapers, magazines, calendars, and books. My most extensive publication, «FREEZE! – Handbuch zur Polarfotografie», a user's guide for photo amateurs heading to the polar regions, came out in 2010. Currently I am writing a book on one of the first cruises to Spitsbergen.
